Each year, the CPRS National Council on Accreditation carries out two major initiatives requiring hundreds of volunteer hours to plan, develop, train, execute, assess, and review and refine, the examination and other components required for the much sought after APR designation and PRK certification in the public relations profession. In 2023, more than 90 CPRS members, all of whom are APRs in good standing and 11 of whom are also Members of the College of Fellows, gave their expertise and their time to make the APR and PRK programs a success.
On behalf of the National Council on Accreditation, I would like to thank all those who sat on evaluation committees, submitted questions for inclusion on exams, acted as exam graders, suggested recommended reading material for the APR Handbook, coordinated or assisted in study groups, provided APR candidates with references or mentoring, worked on APR and PRK policy and program development and revisions, provided support in both official languages, or gave in any other way. I encourage you to view the list of our 2023 volunteers and perhaps pass along your appreciation as a member the next time you connect with those you may know on the list.
Delivery of the APR and PRK programs is a 12-month effort with multiple overlaps during the year. We could not do this without the support of our volunteers.
At this time, I would also like to thank the members of the National Council on Accreditation for their commitment and leadership to continually enhance the experience and the status of the APR and PRK programs in Canada. It is a privilege to work alongside and learn from these industry-leading professionals who also volunteer their valuable time.
