Emerging Practitioners

So you’ve started your career in PR. Maybe you already have a few years in the field. By now most likely, you’ve realized that the PR field is constantly evolving and to succeed you always need to evolve with it. You’ve also realized that to grow professionally you need a strong network and the ability to distinguish yourself from the crowd.

If it all sounds like a tall order, it’s because it is. Succeeding in public relations and communications management can be challenging but also incredibly rewarding, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Since 1946, the Canadian Public Relations Society has made it our mission to support our members at every stage of their career.

Access to professional development
When you join CPRS as a new practitioner member, you will get access to all the content in our Bill Rees Learning Center, or as we like to call it, the best Canadian PR content, curated specifically to help CPRS members stay on top of in demand skills.

The power of the CPRS community of practitioners behind you.
Whether by being able to access the National Member Directory and reaching out to others in the field, or by making local connections through your local CPRS society, you will know that you will have the advice and support needed to succeed.

Stand out from the crowd with PRK©
When starting out in PR it’s important to stand out from the crowd by showing potential employers you have what it takes to succeed in the business. That is why, we encourage new graduates and those in the first five years of practice to take the Public Relations Knowledge (PRK®) exam. Passing the exam can be a tangible proof of your knowledge and commitment to the profession.

Access to our member exclusive Job Board
As a CPRS member, you will get exclusive access to the CPRS job board, where you can find the latest opportunities from some of the top Canadian PR employers.
