Are you a senior communications professional with an eye for a good story, interested in leading a high-performing group of communication specialists in a collaborative environment? Do you have a good grasp on the dynamic and ever-changing worlds of social media and digital communication?


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the work of a high-performing team of content producers dedicated to best practice
  • Lead social media at NAIT and within the Department of Marketing and Communications, including planning and developing content and measuring success
  • Provide leadership to the Social Media Resource Team, a cross-disciplinary team that advises NAIT schools, departments and social media practitioners on strategies and opportunities
  • Support the development of a data-driven digital marketing and content strategy for NAIT’s online content hub,
  • Contribute to the development of content, systems and processes for NAIT’s web properties
  • Help oversee web governance and ensure the consistency of content on NAIT web properties through regular content audits
  • Advise and oversee the delivery of strategic communications in support of fund development and alumni relations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement with an eye to future trends
  • Contribute to NAIT-wide initiatives as a member of the Communications team
  • Additional duties as required


Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience leading a busy, dynamic team with strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of and experience in executing data-driven digital communication and marketing
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans
  • Superior writing, editing and storytelling skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Understand web content/writing best practices and can proof and edit content using accepted web writing standards
  • Knowledge of and experience with current best practices and trends in social media and digital platforms including search engine marketing, content hubs and content marketing
  • Experience as a social media community manager
  • Demonstrated project management experience and ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a diverse audience of clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrated ability to identify with a client’s business and strategic goals, diverse audiences and their needs.
  • Knowledge of CP Style

Remuneration:  $75,311.34 - $99,774.22 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, journalism, English or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years of related experience supervising and leading high-performing teams.
