We're looking for a Generalist to join our talented and diverse Marketing & Communications (M&C) team that informs, inspires and engages our members and HOOPP employees every day. In this role, you will support the Digital and Internal Communications teams, in an Agile environment, by developing, updating and maintaining content across a variety of digital communications platforms.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

Support digital channels

  • Ensure content on hoopp.com and HOOPP's social media channels is updated in a timely and accurate manner, with a critical eye for detail
  • Create and deploy mass email communication campaigns and provide recommendations for A/B testing and future improvements to campaigns based on campaign analytics
  • Develop audience-relevant content to support communication initiatives
  • Assist in writing and populating meta data (titles, descriptions, etc.) into HOOPP's content management system to optimize content for search engines

Support internal communications

  • Develop and update content on HOOPP's internal communications channels including the employee intranet and digital signs
  • Create and distribute the biweekly all-staff email newsletter
  • Maintain detailed and accurate communication calendars for HOOPP's internal communication initiatives
  • Provide communications support for HOOPP's corporate giving and employee culture-focused initiatives, in addition to internal and external events

M&C team support

  • Collaborate with the broader M&C team to support communication campaigns
  • Diligently follow marketing and communication processes, templates and workflows, and make recommendations to improve efficiencies, where possible
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with M&C team members and key internal stakeholders, as needed
  • Proactively monitor industry trends and make recommendations to enhance our internal and external outreach programs

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in marketing, digital communications, public relations or equivalent training and/or education
  • 2-4 years of experience in a marketing/communications position/s
  • Excellent writing, editing, proof-reading and attention to detail
  • Ability to express ideas in a clear, well-organized manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to build and maintain a positive work environment
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize work load, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms (functionality, strengths, trends, etc.), especially Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Business
  • Standard computer skills - MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint
  • Previous working knowledge of Content Management System (CMS) platforms (e.g. Wordpress, Sitefinity, etc.) and mass email communication platforms (e.g. Dotdigital, Mail Chimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of HTML, graphic design, vendor/project management an asset
  • Prior work experience in an Agile environment and pension industry knowledge an asset
