Job Description
The
Director, Member Editorial Communications is responsible for leading a team of editorial, production, and content generation staff to plan and implement member communications in a strategic manner, coordinating seamlessly with others in MRAC to deliver relevant, timely, best-in-class information to OMA members. This includes liaising with senior level staff within MRAC and the OMA to guide the development and ongoing management of an editorial calendar using Playbook and other corporate priority-setting resources to translate key initiatives into engaging, informative and useful information for members that is simple, intuitive and fits into their work and personal lives. This role works closely and seamlessly with key account management and subject matter experts within MRAC to integrate Member Editorial Communications within the full range of member-facing channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Leads a team of writing, editing, production, advertising sales, design and video content staff to deliver an integrated approach to delivering compelling content to members.
- Oversees the editorial strategy for communicating key activities and organizational priorities to members and liaising with senior members of MRAC and the organization to influence integration with policy, service-based and other operational activities as well as to complement, where relevant external communications activities.
- Oversees the development of content based on Playbook and OMA priorities in the form of an editorial calendar designed to integrate with other parts of MRAC to deliver a cohesive, consistent member-centric communication approach.
- Coordinates editorial strategy and content deliverables with other MRAC departments to contribute to the overall seamless member experience when it comes to communications activities.
- Assigns appropriate staffing and budget resources to deliver on strategic objectives and project commitments.
- Develops close relationships with key MRAC and OMA staff.
- Oversee brand management and the creative development of branded content.
