Communications Officer:
This marketing and communications position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with a broad range of skills. You will work with a high-functioning, successful, communications and marketing team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative and able to effectively manage competing priorities. You are a strong writer with Canadian Press (CP-style) experience. You have managed large-scale projects and campaigns, and are comfortable managing multiple strategic marketing, communications, social media and event management projects, in a fast-paced environment. Job Summary:
In this position, you will join a team that supports the marketing and communication needs of multiple departments within the WCB and WorkSafe. Project work will be varied and provide you the opportunity to work on a wide variety of areas that include marketing and communications, event management, social media, video production, design and branding, and public relations.



Two (2) years successfully completed post-secondary education in Business, Public Relations and/or Marketing

Minimum of four (4) years successful experience demonstrating the ability to do the following:

  •  Demonstrated ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop, plan and execute marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Proven experience in managing strategic digital and social media platforms and campaigns.
  • Broad understanding of advertising planning and management, and working with external vendors.
  • Strong understanding of digital media marketing, social media and interpreting analytics.
  • Solid understanding of media relations, media management, writing and coordinating news conferences.
  • Creative eye with exposure to graphic design work and visual identity solutions.
  • Strong written skills and proficiency in Canadian Press (CP) style.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Familiar with video production and editing, along with editing software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite and SharePoint, and a familiarity with Adobe suite, WordPress and Drupal will be considered an asset.
