Husky is currently looking for a Sr. Communications Advisor to join their Corporate Affairs department at their Calgary, AB location.

The Senior Communications Advisor reports into the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and provides strategic counsel and support to allocated client groups, playing a key role in the development and execution of communication plans and activities that ensure alignment with Husky’s strategy and values.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Provides strategic communications counsel to HR and EPPM leaders that helps to further advance each BU’s goals and objectives.
Develop and coordinate annual communication plans including core messages, tools, and roll out recommendations.
Consult with internal clients to determine communication needs and determine best practices.
Support various HR initiatives including Diversity and Inclusion, Health & Benefits, Total Rewards, Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Onboarding and support of the new SAP SuccessFactors program.
Develop and/or lead the creation of internal content for HuskyNet and various Sharepoint Community sites, as well as any BU specific collateral.
Support the Engineering, Procurement and Project Management group on essential communications, such as Town Hall meetings.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism is required
Master’s Degree in Communications or Business Administration is an asset
Change Management/Organizational Effectiveness certification
Membership/Accreditation with Canadian Public Relations Society or International Association of Business Communicators
Minimum of 8-10 years working as a trusted communications advisor with senior stakeholders in corporate client groups.
Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans.
Knowledge of emerging technologies
Knowledge of oil and gas industry
Ability to build strong relationships with key client groups and work collaboratively with broader communications team.
Proven expertise in managing multiple client groups, priorities and projects at the same time.
Strong analytical, writing and verbal communication skills along with strong public speaking/presentations skills is required
Strong proficiency in the following software systems is required:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
