Senior Manager, Communications and Stakeholder Relations

The Senior Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Relations is accountable for creating and executing communication strategies and tools and building and nurturing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
You will develop collateral materials and communication tools to support all of CATC’s community development and business development activities. You will also develop plans and materials and utilize media campaigns to inform the public, healthcare providers and key stakeholders about the mission, mandate and issues of CATC, positioning the company well within the healthcare community.  You will develop plans and materials to address societal stigma that plagues addiction treatment and to differentiate CATC within the healthcare community.  As a member of a small team, the role will be dynamic and evolving in nature.

Duties & Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and execute communications and stakeholder relations strategies supporting policy and growth objectives
  • Understand, monitor and react to Ministry of Health and LHIN priorities as they relate to Mental Health and Addiction
  • Community development support, including providing supporting materials to employees representing CATC on working groups and committees and/or attending events.
  • Research and briefing material development
  • Shape and deliver key communications messages to targeted audiences
  • Develop and execute strategic media/public relations initiatives
  • Event planning support and execution including developing plans for attending appropriate conferences and recommending CATC representation
  • Analyze and evaluate issues, prepare briefing notes and advise CATC senior management on actions
  • Maintain a robust and reliable database of key stakeholder contacts
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, news releases, fact sheets , including material to be used on social media platforms
  • Assist and support senior managers with media relations and act as the first point of contact
  • Identify proactive media opportunities and execute and track them
  • Write blog posts and media statements and represent CATC on social media networks


  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent writer, detail-oriented, extremely efficient, creative and strategically oriented
  • This is a stand-alone role with the accountability to create and develop the stakeholder communications and relations function
Communication - demonstrated strength, both orally and written, when interacting with stakeholders using all available mediums when expressing key messages; seen as a credible, influential communicator who interacts with all audiences in an open, empathetic and respectful manner;
