We’re seeking a Public Affairs and Media Relations Strategist who stays deeply connected with the trends and happenings that influence the news of the day and wants to help Purolator become a newsmaker for the right reasons. You will:


  • Work directly with the Communications management team to establish Purolator’s public affairs and public relations functions.
  • Have the opportunity to hit the ground running by developing and activating media strategies and public affairs plans showcasing the company’s record growth, on-trend innovation and technology advancements, and job creation.
  • Keep the company connected with its influencer community including public policy decision makers, media pundits, consumer media spokespeople and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a corporate spokesperson.
  • Maintain credible relationships with journalists across the country.
  • Create integrated public relations campaigns that promote Purolator’s growth and brand initiatives and the positive outcomes they achieve for businesses in Canada and Canadians.
  • Develop thought leadership and insights-based articles and content, as well as  manage annual and quarterly report production and distribution.
  • Oversee media monitoring and keep Purolator’s management team up to date with insights and analysis.
  • Work with social media teams in Communications and Marketing to identify compelling news stories and opportunities.
  • Use your exceptional writing skills to craft news releases, speeches, key messages, media pitches and public policy reports.
  • Keep current with public affairs and media relations best practices, trends and technology.
  • Lead issues management and crisis communications strategies and responses.

  • Exceptional decorum, judgement and project management skills.
  • Superior organization and prioritization skills coupled with a sense of urgency and motivation.
  • An action-oriented style balanced with good judgement.
