Job Description

Purolator is on the cusp of the most unprecedented growth in its history. Join us and play an important role in our future by leading communications for our new state-of-the-art Ontario Hub. The New Ontario Hub is Purolator’s flagship project that will deliver future capabilities to realize exciting service standards, exemplify our brand values as well as trigger long-term success for Purolator and our customers.

We are seeking a self-motivated communications strategist with a positive attitude and proven experience managing communications for large-scale projects in the logistics, supply chain, manufacturing or engineering sectors. As the Communications Lead, Ontario Hub Project, you will:
  • Develop communications strategies and provide recommendations to build momentum and excitement among a diverse range of internal and external audiences for Purolator’s historic Ontario Hub investment.
  • Use your experience in change management communications to bring the organization, transitioning employees and key stakeholders (local governments, customers, partners and more) alongside Purolator’s vision for the new Ontario Hub.
  • Unlock your creativity to produce and oversee the development of engaging content in partnership with the Hub’s leadership team including videos, social media posts (internal and external), images, infographics, presentations and more.
  • Excite people with your penchant for writing by drafting (or editing) speeches, key messages, Q&As, announcements, social media soundbites, letters, submissions and more
  • Build trust with the Ontario Hub’s senior leadership team by delivering counsel on communication techniques and best practices.
Support media relations, issues management and other external communications requirements associated with the Hub’s construction and operations.


  • Post-secondary education required; ideally in corporate communications or public relations.
  • 6-8 years’ experience working in corporate communications, preferably in the supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or engineering industries.
  • Experience in:
    • Acting as communications lead to support corporate projects and business objectives;
    • Providing communications counsel and support to internal business partners to achieve communications goals;
    • Writing and distributing internal and external communications content through various communications vehicles, adjusting approach and style based on audience;
    • Crisis communications and issues management;
    • External/media relations.
Skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Self-starter with a team-oriented, winning attitude
  • Relationship builder
  • Excellent communication skills (English)
  • Exceptional writing, editing and content production acumen
  • Strategic communications planner and project manager
  • Strong project management experience
  • Ability to work with executives and senior leaders in an advisory role and knowing when to take direction when appropriate
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work on multiple tasks (strong time management skills) in a high-energy, high-demand, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiar with Canadian Press style.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Social media calendar and content development is an asset.
Value-added skills and abilities include:
  • Graphic design and content development capabilities and proficiency in Adobe suite of products (specifically InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop) and directing videos is an asset.
  • Government relations / Labour relations experience.
