Since news of COVID-19 affecting Canada first broke, CPRS has been actively monitoring the situation while remaining both optimistic and realistic about the potential impacts on this year’s CPRS National Conference in Quebec City. Unfortunately, with less than two months to go and the current state of affairs being what it is, we have made the difficult decision not to hold the in-person Conference.
While holding a successful event is important to us, at the end of the day, the health and wellbeing of our delegates, partners, staff and volunteers are simply more important.
We are just as disappointed as you are for having to make this decision, but thanks to modern technology, we have been looking at ways to transform this year’s learning experience into a virtual format.
There are many options currently being explored, and we will update you as soon as we have more information. Whatever the final format, rest assured, we expect our 2020 Virtual Conference to offer the same high-quality Professional Development that you have come to expect, but now from the comfort of your home or office.
On behalf of the Local Advisory Committee, as well as the numerous contributors on our various subcommittees, thank you for supporting Transformation 2020. We also thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this challenging time, as we continue to transform our flagship PD event into a new and exciting virtual experience. Stay tuned … you will want to be there when we unveil the details!
Looking forward to our next rendezvous.
