ELEVATE – CPRS 2023 National Conference – Whistler, B.C., June 4-6, 2023
Planning is well underway for this year’s CPRS National Conference, ELEVATE, taking place from June 4-6 in beautiful Whistler, B.C., located on the unceded ancestral territory of the Lil̓wat7úl and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nations. Our Local Advisory Committee is excited to help organize this in-person event and we look forward to gathering with our peers from across Canada for three days of learning and networking.

Keynotes & workshops

We know you are eagerly waiting to hear about our speakers. The Programming Committee is working diligently on identifying and securing keynotes and workshops that will inspire you and inspire you professionally and personally. We hope to  make some keynotes announcements in the next few weeks.
We are thrilled to have received more than 50 workshop submissions on a broad range of subjects for this year’s conference. The Programming Committee is hard at work choosing the best of the bunch—reviewing and assessing submissions to ensure they complement our three pillars:
  • Craft: The future of our profession
  • Humanity: Looking after ourselves, our clients and our communities
  • Inclusion: A seat at the table for everyone
We will very shortly be announcing the first five workshops, so stay tuned for that! This will give you a flavour of what to expect, and are just the beginning of a series of fantastic workshops delivered by our expert communications and PR community.
Everyone who submitted a workshop proposal can expect to hear back by the beginning of March.

Get your tickets while they’re hot!

There are still a few days left to take advantage of the  extra early-bird rate. Don’t delay; these rates fly away on February 28! Of course, tickets will continue to be available right up until the week before the conference.
Wondering how to pitch this conference as professional development to your employer? Use our ‘Snapshot of the Value’ one-pager [can we link here to the one-pager?] . We’ve also added a schedule at a glance,  so you can start planning your trip to Whistler.

Whistler: A world-class destination

If you’re flying to Vancouver, take advantage of reduced airfare by using our conference booking codes. As our planning continues, we’ll be sharing additional details about shuttles from the airport, as well as other ways to get to Whistler.
While in Whistler, we encourage you to stay at the conference hotel, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. This gorgeous hotel is located right at the foot of the mountain. It has an amazing spa, fantastic outdoor pool, and all sorts of great amenities. Book your rooms by May 11 to take advantage of the low conference rate.

Coming together

Carving out time for professional development can often be challenging, but this conference is an opportunity you won’t want to miss! Keep an eye on your inbox and social media over the coming weeks as we start announcing our keynotes and workshops. We promise, this is going to be an epic conference that will elevate your communications practice.
On behalf of the Local Advisory Committee, we look forward to seeing you in June.
