THREE SESSIONS. LIVE INTERACTION. LEADERSHIP LEARNING.
Three intensive 2-hour online workshop sessions via Zoom starting April 14, 2026
This three-part masterclass is designed for communications professionals who are ready to move from managing messages to shaping decisions.
It equips participants with the mindset, frameworks, and language needed to evolve from practitioner to trusted advisor — someone who can sit comfortably beside senior executives, contribute meaningfully to organizational strategy, and guide business leaders through complexity.
This isn’t about tools or tactics. It’s about expanding your professional reach — from communicator to integrator.

AI already shapes how Canadian communicators work, yet while we focus on how generative AI makes us more efficient, the 2025 State of Public Relations study shows only 18 percent of business leaders view AI adoption and transformation as part of the communicator’s role. At the same time, AI use is high, governance is still low, and recent research on the “transparency dilemma” suggests that even honest disclosure of AI use can reduce trust.
In this kick-off to CPRS’s AI masterclass series, senior communicators explore where AI sits in their work today, where reputational risk is highest, and how they want to show up in AI conversations with leaders.
Through short plenary exchanges and a focused breakout, participants identify their own baseline for safe AI use, explore the gaps in oversight that present risk and discuss how to strengthen their strategic voice. The session sets the stage for the next two workshops.
Takeaways:
- A serious conversation about AI, trust and the profession
- Surfacing together some of the real pressures senior communicators face now
- A solid grounding for the following two masterclasses that lean into strategy and governance.

TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2026: 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM ET via Zoom

AI transformation is moving quickly inside organizations, yet communications professionals are often brought in after key decisions are already underway. At the same time, the success of AI initiatives depends heavily on organizational culture, stakeholder relationships and how change is introduced and understood.
This session focuses on how communicators can earn and hold a seat at the table as organizations navigate AI adoption. Participants will explore how communications can support integration, strengthen stakeholder trust and help leaders manage the cultural and relational dimensions of technological change.
Through practical examples and guided workshop exercises, participants examine where communications can add value earlier in AI conversations and how the profession can move from tactical support to strategic partnership.
Takeaways:
• Understanding how communications contribute to successful AI transformation
• Insight into the role of culture, relationships and trust in AI adoption
• A practical framework for connecting AI transformation to reputation management

As AI adoption accelerates, organizations are grappling with questions around governance, ethics and responsible use. Policies, guidance and internal education are quickly becoming essential foundations for safe and effective AI integration.
This session explores the role communicators play in helping organizations build AI literacy and support ethical adoption. Participants will examine how communications helps shape AI policies, ethical guidance and internal education as organizations build capability and confidence in AI use.
Through practical examples and guided workshop exercises, participants explore how communicators can help shape responsible AI practices and strengthen organizational readiness as AI becomes embedded in everyday work.
Takeaways:
• Understanding the communicator’s role in AI literacy, governance and ethical adoption
• Insight into how communications supports policy development and organizational education
• A clearer view of what leaders and organizations are looking for from communicators as AI use expands
*Please note that masterclass session descriptions and takeaways may evolve with speaker preparations and confirmations.
