Canadian Public Relations Leadership Summit
CPRS lead an initiative to bring together allied professional organizations for a day of dialogue and debate on the future of our industry. The first ever “Canadian Public Relations Leadership Summit” was held on March 5, 2010 in Toronto. ‘Envisioning 2020’ brought together a select group of leaders, from all sectors of the public relations and communications management industry in a facilitated discussion and identified the opportunities and challenges that face our industry over the next 10 years.
Each allied professional group which included the Canadian Public Relations Society, International Association of Business Communicators, Canadian Council of Public Relations Firms, Health Care Public Relations Association, Global Alliance and College of Fellows was asked to identify specific sector, practice and thought leaders whose participation in this day-long event would add insight and value to the discussion and dialogue and to contribute to the success of this historic initiative.
Facilitated by Dr. Terry Flynn APR, FCPRS speakers included David Estok of SickKid’s Foundation who delivered a talk on The Forces of Change and Courtney Pratt, Chairman and CEO at Toronto Region Research Alliance and Chairman at Knightsbridge Human Capital Solutions addressed The Changing Landscape of Communications in Canada.
As a follow up to the very successful Leadership Summit organized, CPRS produced a summary video featuring Dr. Terry Flynn APR, FCPRS with highlights of the Summit and two videos featuring each of the keynote presentations from the day given by David Estok and Courtney Pratt.
