DAVID BELL 1952 - 2005

Passed away at home on September 16th, 2005, surrounded by the love of his family. He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Annie. His beloved and beautiful Annie was his best friend and life partner. David always said that it was the luckiest day of his life when he met Annie. He believed that she was the source of everything that was right and beautiful in his life. Annie was truly the love of his life. David is also survived by his wonderful children Jordan and Caitlin. David loved his children very deeply and they were a source of immense pride for him. David died gratified by the fact that his kids were on their way to being meaningful and worthwhile adults. David is also survived by his brother Stephen and sister Nancy and their families, his mother-in-law Agnes Goestl, and brother-in-law John Goestl and his family.

Predeceased by his parents George and Muriel Bell, and his older brother Michael. David privately fought a courageous two year battle with colon cancer and its complications. Throughout the fight, David never lost his sense of humour nor his sense of adventure. It is clear that he earned extra time with his family and friends through a combination of his unrelenting optimism and his incredible tenacity. In the end, he lost the battle but he fought the good fight.

He would like to thank all who were involved with their kind and compassionate care at the Brantford General Cancer Clinic. David was very lucky to have a small group of steadfast friends, many of whom he'd known for decades. He told a few of these friends of the terminal nature of his predicament because of necessity or proximity. Others, he did not tell because he hated spreading more sadness around and he hoped that they would forgive him for not telling them. He was particularly grateful to Steph and Rolfie who were always there, above and beyond! To his friends, he loved you all.

David was well known throughout Canada's public relations industry as an executive recruiter. He established the country's premier executive recruitment firm specializing exclusively in public relations in the early 1990's and managed it until his death. His honesty and integrity will be missed. At David's request, there was no service. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or charity of your choice would honour his memory.

Please come and help celebrate David's life on Sunday September 25th. Join family and friends in celebrating the 'David way,' at the Keg Steakhouse in Brantford (61 Lynden Road) from 6 p.m. onward. For directions please call the Keg (519-757-0024).
