Sarah has more than 25 years experience in marketing and strategic communications gained through senior positions in a variety of Ontario government organizations.
Sarah is considered one of the premier experts on issues and crisis management in Canada. In addition to this expertise, she is a recognized expert in issues of privacy and freedom of information. Recently she has advised key government clients in the areas of issues management, strategic communications and response to freedom of information requests.
Prior to launching her consulting career, Sarah was Director of Communications for the Trillium Gift of Life Network, an agency of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care; and the then-Ministry of Consumer and Business Services (now the Ministry of Consumer Services). She has also served as Director, Advertising and New Media in Cabinet Office; and Manager of Communications with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner.
In these positions, she was responsible for providing communications advice and support to the CEO and Board; Ministers and senior officials, staff in the Premier’s Office and ministries across the Ontario government, and an Officer of the Ontario Legislative Assembly respectively.
Sarah is accredited (APR) with the Canadian Public Relations Society and has been a CPRS member since 1984. She has served as a member of the board of the CPRS societies in Edmonton and Toronto, and is a past president of CPRS (Toronto) Inc. She was CPRS’ National President for the year 2000-2001. She currently serves as Deputy Presiding Officer, Appeals on CPRS’ National Council on Accreditation and is Presiding Officer of the National Committee on Judicial and Ethics. Sarah was inducted into the CPRS College of Fellows in 2009.
Sarah has a BA (Hons) from Queen’s University.
